New product added – Atorvastatin / Ezetimibe combination tablet

24th October 2026/by David Wright

This new combination tablet, designed to improve medication adherence by allowing patients to take both tablets in one, is a very interesting product for people with swallowing difficulties and those trying to administer it to them.

Neither drug dissolves particularly well in water and ezetimibe tastes truly awful if crushed and placed onto the tongue.  As both can be obtained separately as relatively small easy to swallow tablets, keeping them separate may be preferable for some people with dysphagia.  Furthermore Atorvastatin can be obtained as a liquid medicine. Crushing or dispersing this combination product prior to administration is not recommended.
