New Podcast on the Importance of Excipients in Medicines now Available

8th July 2026/by Jan Flynn

Tablets, capsules and liquid medicines consist of more than just the drug or active ingredient.  They also frequently contain a wide range of excipients which are all there for different reasons.  In some instances it is important that prescribers and patients are aware of them as they are not always ideal.

In this new podcast, Steve Tomlin who is the Director of Children’s Medicines Research and Innovation Centre and Deputy Chief Pharmacists at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital talks about excipients and their importance in medicines formulations.
