Advice on administration via enteral tube
Consider changing the patient to rivastigmine patches if suitable. Current resources suggest that it is likely to be safe to administer rivastigmine oral solution via enteral feeding tubes. Stop the enteral feed before administration. Draw up the required dose into an enteral syringe then administer via enteral feeding tube. Flush the feeding tube with water before and after administration of the medication. No break in feeding is required after the medication has been administered.
